F.J. Montans

Francisco J. Montáns, is full Professor at Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (UPM), and Courtesy Prof. at University of Florida (UF). Prof. Montáns is a Mechanical Engineer with a PhD from UPM in Structural Mechanics and Earthquake Engineering. He did a Post-Doc at Stanford University and has been Visiting Scholar at MIT and Visiting and Adjunct Professor at UF. He has been Associate Prof. in Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha and of the Industrial Engineering, Mining Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering Schools at UPM. His research interests are computational mechanics at large (dynamics, constitutive modeling, materials science, optimization, machine learning). He is co-author of more than 75 journal papers, member of the Editorial or Advisory Board of several journals, PI or Coordinator of several National and European Projects, and has been Head of the National Design and Industrial Production Research Program of Spain.
